What is Hell Like?

The American Standard Version Bible uses the word "Heaven" 534 times. It uses the word "Hell" directly 13 times but the place of fire and brimstone is referred to many more times such as in Matthew 25: 30 "outer darkness."

I. Who was Hell made for? See Matthew 25: 41. What insight does this give us about putting man in Hell?

II. What kind of people are going to Hell?

• Matthew 7: 21-23
• Mark 16: 16
• Read the whole 25th chapter of Matthew and name at least three types of people who won't be going to Heaven
• Romans 1: 18-32
• I Corinthians 6: 9-11
• Galatians 5: 19-21. "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
  Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousies, wraths, factions, divisions, parties,
  Gal 5:21 envyings, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; of which I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that they who practise such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."
  
• Ephesians 5: 3 "But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;
  Eph 5:4 nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, or jesting, which are not befitting: but rather giving of thanks.
  Eph 5:5 For this ye know of a surety, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
  Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with empty words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience."
  
• II Thessalonians 1: "7 and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire,
  2Th 1:8 rendering vengeance to them that know not God, and to them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus:
  2Th 1:9 who shall suffer punishment, even eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
  2Th 1:10 when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be marvelled at in all them that believed (because our testimony unto you was believed) in that day. "
• II Peter 2: 12-22.
• Revelation 21: 8--"But people who are cowardly, unfaithful, detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars will find themselves in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death."
  
  

III. Where is Hell?

Revelation 20: 9-15.--

Mark 9: "42 And whosoever shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it were better for him if a great millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
Mar 9:43 And if thy hand cause thee to stumble, cut it off: it is good for thee to enter into life maimed, rather than having thy two hands to go into hell, into the unquenchable fire;
Mar 9:44 where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Mar 9:45 And if thy foot cause thee to stumble, cut it off: it is good for thee to enter into life halt, rather than having thy two feet to be cast into hell;
Mar 9:46 where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Mar 9:47 And if thine eye cause thee to stumble, cast it out: it is good for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell;
Mar 9:48 where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. "
