Wednesday Night Study Sheet--Joshua 12
Main idea: Listing of the thirty-one kings that God through Joshua and Israel defeated.
Summary: The twelfth chapter of Joshua is a documentation of all kings defeated by the nation of the Israelites. The beginning of the chapter devotes itself to the kings smitten by Moses and his men "beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise", and the latter portion of the chapter notes the kings of Israel overtaken by Joshua and his troops "toward the west". The significance of the seemingly detailed listing of the kings is that without God, defeating even one of the 31 kings would have been impossible. With God, all of them were handed over to Israel.
